We'd rather be straight than oversell. Totem's flagship deployment is Bargate House in Southampton — a full 122-room building operated by Unilife, live since January 2026 and running at over 99% uptime. It has delivered over 54% reduction in electric heating use building-wide.
What makes that more than a pilot claim is that the data is public and verifiable: Bargate's cumulative savings update every week and anyone can see them. Most vendors ask you to take a before/after on trust — we publish the live figures.
Built to roll out at scale
Any qualified electrician
No specialist HVAC or gas-safe trades, and no scarce proprietary workforce to wait on. Totem trains any competent electrician in around two hours, then they can commission units. That's what makes nationwide rollout practical.
~15 minutes per room
Each room — Control unit, push button and temperature sensor — takes about 15 minutes. A qualified electrician can typically complete a full floor in a day, with no drilling, rewiring or damage to building fabric.
No ceiling on portfolio scale
One Totem Connect hub manages up to 35 Control units; larger buildings use multiple hubs, and every site across a portfolio feeds one dashboard. Adding rooms or buildings needs no new cabling infrastructure.

- Where hardware attention is needed: on site within 48 hours (standard), or 24 hours for anything critical such as loss of heating
- Fail-safe by design — units default to full power on any fault, so a fault never leaves a resident cold while a fix is arranged
